The public is invited to attend the RTS Citizen’s Advisory Board meeting on September 23, at 5:45 PM in the RTS Administration Building located at 34 SE 13th Road. The agenda will include a presentation by staff on the proposed fare increase. RTS has faced several budget cuts over the last four years, resulting in service cuts. RTS is facing a funding gap again this year. To close the gap, RTS is considering at all options, including raising fares. The last time transit fares were increased in Gainesville was in 2008 (18 years ago). Staff will be available to provide information on the research, analysis, and study used to develop the proposed fare increase.
